Sounds wierd, doesn't it? What in the world can my pastor say that is related to Internet Marketing.
Well, actually quite a lot. The title of the series is called Destinations and in a nutshell it's about the choices or paths we take that lead us to circumstances in our lives that were never our intended destination. But if we look back after the fact, that path was indeed a direct route to the outcome.
Take for example a man who is unhappy in his marriage. He doesn't wake up one morning deciding to have an affair. But he is unhappy, miserable and frustrated with his wife. So during his workday he meets a woman who is the opposite of his wife. They have a conversation and he feels great, happy, desired. So they have another conversation, and another. Well before you know it, he's having an affair. Never met to, it just happened.
He saw this shiny, new woman and all her differences from the one he had the problems with and fell for something that appeared to be better than what he had. Only problem is this new woman is demanding. In order to keep her, he has to spend money. A lot of money. As well as maintain his normal household expenses. Before you know it, his wife has filed for divorce and he has filed bankruptcy. And the pretty young thing? Well she isn't anywhere to be found now.
See how that original conversation that was intended for a momentary mood booster led down a path he never intended to take?
So how does this relate to Internet Marketing? If you haven't clicked off yet, you are probably thinking I'm nuts. Well maybe, but hear me out.
Take the wandering spouse story and spin it this way.
There was a man who was trying to "make it" in Internet Marketing. He was working hard but not making it. He became frustrated and miserable with the opportunity he felt would work. It just wouldn't quite take off, other than making a little money here and there. So one day he starts looking around on the Internet at shiny new, flashy, "get it now" opportunities. They made promises of money falling down from the sky, he felt kind of excited and envisioned himself rolling around in this money. They made it sound so easy, he convinced himself this shiny new opportunity had to be better than the old tired one he was working himself to death over.
So he left the first one and hurried to the next without a thought, except how rich he would be....real soon. Only problem was this new opportunity wanted money...lots of money to keep going. While the money was going in, none was coming back to him. He was also putting money into the first opportunity, which now had no money coming in there either. Before he knew it, the first opportunity was gone, dead because he wasn't putting anything into it. And the shiny new oppportunity? Disappeared into thin air as quickly as it appeared.
He never intended to lose his first opportunity, but the path he chose certainly led him to a dead end destination.
So what is the moral of my little tale?
If you are already trying to make it in Internet Marketing and are with a company who has shown proven, success, if they provide you with the tools you need to succeed and are helping you along your way, DON'T GIVE UP. Stick with it and you will succeed.
So many of us who get into this business run from one shiny site to the next making our destination at the end of a road called Failure.
Don't look the other way. Don't fall victim to the shiny stuff that promises a bunch of "too good to be true, empty dreams." That scam will lead you down the same dead end path every time you walk in that direction. Too many people fall prey to the scams that seem to permeate the Internet. Don't be a victim to even one of them.
If you are searching for a way to make money on the Internet, don't fall for the easy promises. Do your research and then do it again. There are great ways to make money on the Internet working from home. Lots of money. It truly pays off to find the right job for you and then stick with it.
To your success!
